Your Donations Make a Local Impact.

JLLC members are committed to developing civic leadership skills and community-based knowledge through League-wide activities, including member education programs. We then put our unique talents and our new knowledge to work in Lee County with community partners.

The members of Junior League of Lee County are advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit this community. We strive to make a positive impact through effective action and collective leadership. We are working with community partners throughout Lee County, Alabama to address pressing issues. Specifically, JLLC partners with Period. The Movement., I Am My Brothers’ Keeper (IAMBK), Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lee County, Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama, and Girls on the Run South Central Alabama with the goal of increasing girls’ and young women’s confidence, courage, knowledge, and personal development.

This goal for community impact has led the League to donate menstrual supplies to the East Alabama Food Bank via our Amazon Wish List and partner with Period. The Movement. to provide educational training to the membership related to period poverty in the United States.

The League seeks to support this goal in five ways, contingent on the skills and knowledge of the current membership and donor-based funds:

  1. Increasing the capacity of non-profit agencies and groups that are modeling the way in Lee County
  2. Increasing awareness of an issue among Lee County residents
  3. Providing direct service in partnership with Lee County non-profit agencies
  4. Building coalitions among people who are leading positive change in Lee County
  5. Allocating grants to eligible agencies in Lee County who are leading positive change
